Purplefruit’s telemarketing team leader Steve Wallis took on this years Great Scottish Run which is considered to be one of Scotland’s very best road races of all time. The race this year consisted of 30,000 runners and continues to attract more and more people each year.
He aimed to complete the 10k charity run after months of hard-core training and now our telemarketing whiz-kid is celebrating after crossing the finishing line in just 1 hour and 14 minutes.
Our hero steve endured crippling pains as he desperately ploughed on to complete the gruelling task, but he was given a last minute bit of motivation from his supporting friends and family who were there to greet him as he began the race for his life.
Once Steve crossed the finished line he admitted that “it meant a lot to me as my loved ones have all suffered from either a stroke or death in the past.” Being a matter so close to his heart it’s clear to see why Steve was so desperately determined to finish the race.
The charity run that he completed on Sunday 5th October was for Scotland’s chest, heart and stroke health charity CHSS raising a substantial amount of money for the charity that made all who knew Steve extremely proud.
We would like to say a huge well done to our good friend and valued member of the PurpleFruit team, and to express our appreciation of such an honourable charity deed that he carried out in his family and friends name.
